Dear Parents and Students:
It is my distinct honor as President of Angelo State University in Texas to invite you to join in this outstanding academic partnership. We have many agreements with international universities and institutions, but our relationship with YBM is intended to create a special partnership between our two institutions. By participating in this new program you will benefit from the best in American and Korean educational experiences which will open many opportunities for you after graduation.

Angelo State University is one of fifty-three public universities in Texas and offers a range of degree programs and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Each of our classes is taught by a professor with the highest academic credentials from the finest universities in the United States. Their focus is on teaching excellence which is accomplished in modern classrooms, with the latest technology to assist in the learning process. Many of our faculty are leaders in their academic discipline and have been awarded many prestigious honors. For these and many other reasons, Angelo State University was selected for the seventh straight year by the Princeton Review as one of the “Best 380 Colleges” in the United States.

Other outstanding recognition and awards include being named to the 2013-2014 BestColleges.com list of the 50 Best Colleges for Intramural Sports, and the College of Graduate Studies was named one of the top 50 Online Graduate Programs in the U.S. for the 2012-13 academic year. Additionally, the ASU Houston Harte University Center was named one of the 25 Most Amazing Student Union Buildings in the U.S. by BestCollegeReviews.org, an independent online college and university ranking guide, and was the only Texas institution in the top 25.

Angelo State University also provides an exceptional support system for its students. Our beautiful campus has over eight hundred faculty and staff members whose primary job is to make our students feel welcome on campus. Students live in modern apartments on campus, participate in many recreational and sports activities and are involved in numerous clubs and honorary societies. For our Global Preparation Program, our Center for International Studies manages many initiatives, including a host family program, cultural excursions and the Korean Students Association to help students adjust to studying in an American university.

Finally, this partnership will have special benefits to participating students. Students selected for participation in the program will pay in-state-tuition, which is greatly reduced when compared to costs normally charged to international students. In addition, after one academic year, students that have completed 30 hours and have a 3.0 GPA will automatically qualify for Angelo State University’s prestigious Carr Earn In Scholarships $1,000 ~ 2,500. This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years. Most importantly, this partnership is dedicated to your success as a student and later as a graduate. We believe that it offers you an exceptional opportunity to prepare for your future in a rapidly changing world and I hope to personally welcome you to campus in Texas in the near future.
Brian May, Ph.D. President Angelo State University
